Easy Summer Layer; the buttonless cardigan

As a mom I am a sucker for those easy layers that you can throw on in a flash, hide unwanted lumps and wash super easy. This cardigan from Miik, an eco-friendly Toronto based company, is perfect.

And yes this outfit would be taken to another level if I had of worn a necklace like the one I posted about earlier today!

The things I love about this cardigan is that is the perfect summer layer. It adds warmth without being bulky or causing the constant on and off, I’m hot, I’m cold, that tends to happen with wool.

I have washed this a couple of times too already and there was no shrinking or loss of colour.

The back on this Miik cardigan is where all the action is; the gathering adds a bit of romantic flair that I haven’t seen on other cardigans of this style.

One thing I will say is the bamboo fabric does wrinkle. I took some pictures of when I wore the cardigan in Waterloo the other day, after the sweater had been in my bag from the weekend and while I liked the pictures, the sweater was crazy wrinkled. But then what wouldn’t be after being packed away for that long? Maybe it’s just my packing skills …

Outfit details: Open Cardigan c/o Miik, Stripe t-shirt Club Monaco, Denim 7 for all mankind via Body Blue, scarf Anthroplogie.

When I had this cottage outfit on repeat this week I changed up my denim to a straight leg and liked the look much better. Wide leg jeans and a drapey sweater is too much volume for my tastes. Still how do you know if you are going to like an outfit if you don’t test it out? And in my case photograph it and share it with everyone!?

I love comfy cardis like that! They're so easy - and look great with anything. I usually take one like that with me when I travel - perfect for cool plane rides!
