Cottage Weekend Outfits
Originally I was going to update one of my older posts about Cottage packing. But when i looked at some of them I realized that I wouldn't even pack the same way anymore. That is the thing about blogging this long everything evolves. The way you dress, the way you pack, what you think is important to bring along with you. So I thought while I think more on how to update older posts I will make a new post with how I would pack Cottage Weekend Outfits today.

Cottage Weekend Outfits
If you are heading to the cottage for the weekend you are likely going to need enough clothing for 2 or three days. Two or three tees, a pair of shorts, sweatpants and maybe even some linen pants. I always pack a sweater or sweatshirt in case of cool evenings and mornings. Swimsuits and towels. Sneakers and sandals. Is it rocky where you are swimming? You might even want swim shoes. Sunglasses and a hat. Don't forget sunscreen and toiletries. Are you going into town for dinner? BBQ at the lake? I find that the older I get the less we go out for dinner and more relaxing dinners at the cottage instead.
Stripe ringer tee - Stripe tees are my go to but you could also go with graphic tees or a classic plain grey tee. I usually pack 2 - 3 tees if I am going for a weekend at the cottage.
Linen shorts - I am not a big shorts person, but these linen shorts are perfect for a cottage weekend because they fit the relaxed vibe of the cottage. I like to cover my bases in case it is very hot.
Swimsuit - a bathing suit is a must because it is likely you will go swimming at some point unless you are up while it is raining or a cold front has come through.
Cable knit sweater - I prefer sweaters to sweatshirts but you pack what you prefer. I always pack at least one warmer layer. Mornings and evenings can be cool.
Sweatpants - I try not to dress like a troll at the cottage but weekend comfies are my natural go to. Plus if you are going for beach side walks or hiking sweatpants will come in handy. If you are worried about being too hot these are really great alternative.
Stripe tee - another stripey tee I know but I said they were my go to. If that isn't your jam pick something plain or pack a graphic tee.
EVA sandals - I like to pack these foam sandals because it can be wet up at the cottage. I don't have to worry about stepping in something or getting them wet because they are foam and easily washed. If you also want a nicer pair of sandals for dinners out pack a leather pair too.
Sneakers - Back to those cottage walks or hikes you are going to need sneakers. Once upon a time I would wear my birkenstocks everywhere but not anymore.
Sunglasses - Sunglasses are a must for me year round. I would also pack a hat for lounging on the deck or the beach with my ereader.
Weekender bag - this is my favourite bag for travel but truth be told I tend to pack many bags. One for our families shoes. One for toiletries and hair. Maybe another for coats if we are packing rain coats. Something for beach towels. And then each of us has a bag for clothing. My full review of this bag is here.
Linen pants - once upon a time I might pack a dress in case we were going out for dinner. Now I would just wear linen pants and a tee.
Other things to pack include beach towels (unless it is your own cottage don't expect the host to have enough extra towels for you), underwear, socks (I tend to forget that one), toiletries and some food (ask the host if they have room and what you can contribute).
What are you packing for your cottage weekend outfits?
