Your Next IT Bag

You have seen them. The IT bags. The Chanel Boy Bay. The Celine Trapeze Tote. The Philip Lim Pashli. The Birkin. Some IT bags are all about the logos more than on particular style, like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, even Coach.

I have personally gone with less obvious choices like the Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote and Clare Vivier’s fold over clutch.

But the issue with the IT bags are their over exposure. Whether they are on every girls blog or seen on ever other girl on the subway, there is something to be said about a beautifully made but less mass produced choice.

That is why I think you should check some alternative sources for your next IT bag.

the next it bag, handmade leather bags

Shop the new IT bags

1. Over-sized Metallic Roll Clutch

2. Opelle Liria bag in Black pebbled leather (MADE IN TORONTO)

3. Taupe Italian Leather Purse

4. Adele Shop Black Leather Tote (MADE IN CANADA)

5. Black Over-sized leather hobo

6. Larch bag in Navy

7. Brown leather tote

8. Vanda Mini in Pines (MADE IN TORONTO)

9. Black Leather handbag

All of the above bags are hand made with high quality leathers. They are gorgeous handbags that would easily cost at least double if not more if a designer name like Marc Jacobs or Micheal Kors was attached to the final product. But instead it means that the average girl with an average bank balance can afford high end luxury on an average girls budget.

Another bonus of these options is that they are not mass produced. They are not shipped half way around the world before you even click BUY which means their carbon footprint is much smaller. Plus leathers break down and biodegrade when thrown away unlike “vegan” plastic options that do not.

The Toronto based Opelle Creative makes sure to source their leathers as a bi product of the food industry adding another level of responsibility to their leather bags.
