When I was in my late teens early 20s (think late 1990s/early 2000) I would book mark my favourite pages of the JCREW catalog. Back then it was more about inspiration because I didn’t really do any catalog shopping as I really didn’t have that kind of disposable income.
One thing that came with every summer JCREW catalog was a new batch of espadrilles. Usually in flat and wedge styles for the season. To me espadrilles were these cool girl exotic shoes.
Fast forward to this summer, espadrilles are hotter than ever. Likely due to those Chanel Espadrilles that crop up in every IT girl’s feed. I finally got myself a pair (ok 2, seen here & here) and I couldn’t be happier.

I have one each of the Soludos and the JCREW espadrilles. I much prefer the Soludos simply because JCREW has an extra trim on the inside lining along the seam and it doesn’t stretch as nice and rubs a bit. I would buy more Soludos in a heartbeat.
