Stylish Winter Boots

So we have had a few weeks worth of snow in the city and that means by now you might have come to the realization that you need a new pair of winter boots.

Maybe your uggs are giving you soakers in the slush or you have found that your old pair has cracks in the soles.

Or maybe you are heading on a ski holiday and your boots that work fine for the city just aren’t going to cut it in Aspen or Mt. Tremblant.

Whatever the case here are some super stylish winter boots.

You can see that I featured two distinct styles above. A tall sleek leather boot that is great for running around the city when you know you aren’t going to be up to your neck in snow or slush. If you treat leather boots with Mink Oil (here or here) you can clean and protect against salt and weather stains. Plus the tall boot keeps your legs warm.

The other style is for when you are being a bit more outdoorsy. Shovelling the drive or going tobogganing or just going to be walking around in the snow for longer periods of time. They are lined, they can accommodate more layers, the rubberized bottoms mean they can handle sloppy slushy messes. In fact I wear my Sorels more than I probably should solely because the city can get really messy with all the melted snow. The texturized bottoms also keep me from having embarrassing falls.

If you are looking for the best of both worlds check out that La Canadienne Serafina boot above. Waterproof, lined, and it looks sleek and stylish.

What kind of stylish winter boot do you wear to get you through the mounds of snow and slush?

I wanted to order the La Canadienne martine boots but I can't find any info on the temps where they continue to be warm. I live in severe weather and would need them to be warm to -25C or more. Do you know where I can look to find this info? Thanks.

Hi Daria,

These boots are made in Canada so they know cold temperatures. But if you want a specific response about these boots I would contact La Canadienne directly. http://www.lacanadienneshoes.com/martine-smoke-suede.html
