Black Friday Wish List

In case you haven’t been following along the hype, this Friday is BLACK FRIDAY.

There is alot of hype around the biggest shopping day of the year but is it worth waiting for? Many retailers have been having regular sales all month and to tell you the truth these retails probably aren’t going to have deeper discounts. These are the GAPs, the Banana Republics, the JCREWs of the retailing scene. They offer you 30 – 50% off weekly and I expect the same from Black Friday. Plus free shipping of course.

Other retailers aren’t regularly on sale. THESE are the retailers to take advantage of during this Thursday to Monday shopping marathon. Think Shopbop, Net-a-Porter and more higher end retailers. Even online only shops like Asos, don’t usually have EVERYTHING on sale so I am going to be watching them closely too. Even Zara.

I expect last years trends to continue. Deals are better in store on Friday through the weekend, and better ONLINE on Cyber Monday.

So if you are like me you have a wish list a mile long. And for some reason it is all for me and not for my Christmas list. Probably because I have most of my kids presents already bought so I have moved on. This is what is on my Black Friday Shopping List.

black friday 2014, wish list, cyber monday, sequin pants, leopard loafers, camel coat, cropped trousersdress/sequin pants/low heel leopard loafers/nail polishes/scarf/cobalt pants/silver heels/camel coat/men’s parka

The first thing on my Black Friday Wish list is this beautiful Asos dress. I am already looking forward to the two weddings we have to attend in the spring and this dress would be perfect. I love the print with the soft grey background and retro fit.

The next thing is sequin pants. This is something I have thought about in the past but sequin leggings and my build just don’t make sense. But these trousers would be perfect. I will be honest I will likely order them from The Bay because the price is already discounted and I won’t have to wait about delays at the border even though Nordstrom is covering the Duties for a limited time for their Canadian Customers. This year must be all about sequins for me because I already picked up this skirt.

These leopard shoes have been calling my name for months. My blogger buddies Iva & Jenny both post these on their Instagram regularly and I just can’t get enough.

I am not a big nail polish person. Mostly because I pick at it and then it just doesn’t look that great. Even more than that I stopped painting my nails when my son was a newborn because I couldn’t handle the smell. But these butter london polishes are not so chemically smelling and the metallic colours are so fun.

Ok so if you haven’t noticed I LOVE blanket scarves. I in no way need another one but I am loving this one from Aritzia.

There is one thing that I can always convince myself I need more of is work trousers. I already have this pair in the wine colour. I could go for the cobalt or the green. They are already 30% off, but I want to wait for free shipping too!

I tend to struggle with what shoes to wear with event dresses. Like the Asos dress above – what would you wear? White? Nude? Black? Rose? I think silver really goes and they are a colour I don’t have in my closet.

My husband doesn’t think I need any more coats. Truth be told I have a fair few. Some really need to be edited out as they don’t really fit that great anymore, others are worn out. But if there was one coat I wanted to add it is a classic camel coat. There are a bunch of options out there but this one from Mango hits all the right notes for a great prices.

My husband has already taken advantage of some sale prices on golf clubs (see his gift guide for golfers), but I think he needs a warmer coat that will still look good at the office. I like this navy parka or this olive green option.

Yeah, now I'm missing North America! It's just not the same in Poland (and no boxing day either...what's with that?). Hope you find lots of great buys! xo styleontheside.com

Thank you Caroline - you can always take advantage online ;) But even Black Friday isn't as great as Boxing day. I think Boxing Day is big in the UK too no?
