How to wear a Cape when it is Really Cold

I love the drama that a cape provides and they are fantastic for transition seasons but what to do when it is cold and you still want to wear your cape? Layer up.

To make this cape coat warm enough for minus something winter weather I layered under my leather jacket. This one is lined and while not warm enough on it's own during the dead of winter it isn't a light leather blazer. Still leather is quite warm on it's own and good for keeping the wind out.

Basically I took two transition season jackets and put them together to create a great winter option.

Also note I totally kept it real in these pictures. I got all snowy clearing off my car and didn't realize I got so snowy until after I was editing these pictures. But this is the reality of winter in Canada. Snow happens.

I have never really talked too much about the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. When I first got it I wasn't that impressed with the leather but I will say that it has aged really well and gotten softer with use. The one drawback with the Mini Mac is that while it will fit a full sized wallet it is hard to stuff it in there. The opening is just slightly too small to fit it easily. It is a good size for a crossbody bag but I prefer the shape and size of the Botkier bag that I have if I had to choose.
