One of the things I feel like I have got in my wardrobe finally are basic pieces that mix and match together to create outfits that I love. They don't need alot of extra stuff (like piles of accessories) to create something put together.
Embracing the stripe tee has really made that possible more than any other thing in my wardrobe.
It has been a bit warmer lately (read that as not minus 30, but still below zero) so instead of always reaching for my toque (or beanie for you non Canadians), I have been picking out my felt fedora. In fact I was thinking I could use one in another colour. Grey like this one from Club Monaco or basic black (I saw one at H&M for $20!). I was particularly happy to be wearing it the other day during a big snow storm because the wide brim kept the snow out of my eyes.
The majority of the time when you catch me out in the winter I am wearing my Sorel boots, which I am getting sick of wearing, but are super practical for all sorts of winter weather from snow to slush or in between. Still as much as I think they are fabulous I am so ready to wear something less bulky like my boots above on a regular basis.
This outfit has a few of my scores from the end of season sales. If you are following me on Instagram you would recognize this Zara cross body bag, but I also picked up the peacoat from the Zara sales and it was a steal at $40! Totally ditching my old less classic looking peacoat immediately. The stripe t-shirt is a score from Club Monaco. I have done pretty well with the sales this season, but I have to officially stop looking at them.
Outfit details: Coat & Bag Zara sales (can't find either online anymore), Felt Fedora Gap (old), Stripe t-shirt Club Monaco, Jeans Bootlegger c/o, Boots Vintage.
It looks like we're on the same wavelength with our posts today. I'm loving the contrasting stripes with the rest of the dark parts of the outfit, and of course, the hat!
Love this look! I want that hat, so cute.
