Faking a Coat with Leather Details
I have been searching for a great coat with leather details (sleeves, lapels you know something like this). But they are either crazy expensive ($500 ++) or not exactly what I want. So I decided to just fake it.
Now I have tried to layer my leather biker jacket under other coats but I think the reason I didn't love it as much is because the coat already had it's own lapels. This combination works much better because the coatigan has an open collar. The three quarter sleeve also allows the illusion of a leather sleeve.
Originally this picture was supposed to show off my arm stack (better picture here) but I do think it does a fab job of showing off the leather details.
Outfit details: Cocoon Coat H&M (similar), Leather Biker jacket Danier, black tee GAP, grey jeans Banana Republic, black ankle boots Joe Fresh (similar), fingerless gloves via Winners.
I am also really digging the whole fingerless gloves trend. Leather details and fingerless gloves. Feeling a bit bad ass.
Find a leather sleeved jacket below (pssst some are on end of season sale!!)
Would you buy the real thing (especially if it were on sale?) or fake the leather details like I did above?
Love the leather peeking ou from that cozy coat! Fingerless gloves make me feel tough too!!
I know right?! Funny though because my hands are small and the fingers don't pop out that much. I guess I will just stay warm than way 🙂

My coatigan!:) I love this - I fell in love with it as soon as I spotted it in H&M - I can see Emmanuelle Alt wearing it with skinnies and IM booties - so that's why I bought it:) xx

Definitely getting this "coatigan" today! Love this post! Do you find that it runs large? I normally wear a small but wanted it to fit a bit loosely. Would you recommend getting a size up or does the normal size of a bit of room? Thank you!
Hi Alyssa, I would buy your normal size or size down actually. They are oversized (or this one is) generally. This one is from last year though.
