Thanksgiving Dinner Outfit

I am definitely one of those people that are in the tights are not pants camp. But at the same time I love the whole drapey sweater and slim pants look.

I actually found these tights at Joe Fresh last year. But I put them back on the shelf to think about it and they were sold out when I went back later to get them. So when I found them again this year I picked up a pair right away.

You see unlike regular tights which are essentially stockings without feet these are thick; more like a pull on version of a stretchy pant.

So one of the keys to wearing stretchy pants is to layer over a longer tee and/or a drapey sweater. This cape sweater is also from Joe Fresh and is the perfect layer to keep these pants from looking like workout gear.

This was the outfit that I wore to Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-law's on the weekend. It was so comfy and perfect for over indulging on Turkey, stuffing and pie. It would also be a fantastic outfit for travelling. The black pants look chic enough to pass for pants over tights but the pull on style is so comfy for a long flight. If I was taking off to somewhere warm I would layer a tee or a tank underneath the long sleeve tee I had on with the cape sweater. As it is getting cooler and cooler here I would be leary to wear just a tee under the sweater as it doesn't really have sleeves. Also I would probably pair with some sort of flat instead of over the knee boots for travelling. So much easier for going through security.
