Stripes on Stripes and a red cross body bag

Sometimes you have items in your closet for ages but one new piece can bring the whole thing together. I picked up this red cross body bag at Coco's Closet on the weekend (Thank you NADIA!), and it just inspired this whole outfit.

Since I can't get enough of stripes this year pairing them just makes sense.

One thing that you notice if you read alot of style blogs is there are certain things you see on bloggers. As a blogger I sometimes think, wow all these bloggers I know have this, everyone must have X. Where X could be everything from the Celine Trapese bag, the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli tote, Karen Walker Sunglasses or the JCREW Panama Hat.

But when I walk around Toronto it becomes obvious very fast that most of the world does not dress like the girls in blogs. And everyone isn't toting around $1000 bags etc.

Long story short, I am glad I grabbed the JCREW Pananama hat even though it seems like every blogger and their brother has one right now.

When I am at Coco's Closet I spend alot of time chatting with the owner, Nadia Trelle. One of the things we were talking about this time around is how her customers always tell her they want to see more cross body bags.

I can tell you as a mom the cross body bag is a godsend. And I am not talking any mini hipster bags we are seeing right now, I mean LARGE, carry your life cross body bags like my beloved Foley & Corinna (seen here) snakeskin bag (love this mock croc version). Or this new find above.

When you are trying to carry groceries and a two year old in from the car, having two hands free is a must. I will say it again. Cross Body Bag.
