I fell in love with the woven leather cross straps on the Sezane Tilda Sandals. So instead of getting a different colour in a sandal I already had I tried out something slightly different. Sharing the pros and cons of these summer sandals in the Sezane Tilda Sandals Review.
Sezane Tilda Sandal Review
The Sezane Tilda Sandal is a flat leather sandal with a woven leather upper. There is a heel strap with a circular buckle. The sandal comes in two colours. The dark brown shown here and a dark green.
The Tilda sandals have the same type of footbed as the Lenny mules. The difference is the heel strap and the woven cross over straps across the top of the foot. So if you like the Lenny know that this will have a similar feel on the bottom of the foot.
I know what you are thinking though. Sure they look cute but are they comfortable. And the answer is yes and no.
They are comfortable for walking around the office.
But the woven leather is stiff leather not soft and supple like the Lenny or the Felicia. I took these sandals on our Dominican vacation and the resort was a bit of a walk from our hotel room near the beach to the main buffet. That walk was long enough that the leather started cutting and irritating my skin where the straps cross at the top of my foot. I have noticed similar irritation after wearing them for a morning of errands as well but not as bad. These sandals definitely need breaking in time as the leather needs to stretch and soften with use. **UPDATE** after a summer of wear I can say that these have broken in nicely. That initial pinching feeling is long gone and now I can easily walk in these without issue. But it did take time.
Overall I love the look of the woven leather but it hasn’t been kind to my feet. I reach for my Lenny mules more than I do these even though I know the more I wear them the more comfortable they get. You need to factor in break in time with the Tilda sandals.
What do you think of the Sezane Tilda Sandals Review? Would you take the time to break in these sandals?
