Tiger is the new leopard

I started seeing faux fur tiger coats on street style stars pop up on pinterest and I was smitten. So when this coat came out I knew I had to have it for my closet.

This coat was another thing I picked up at the end of 2018 but showed up at the begining of 2019. In fact it showed up after I injured my knee so I didn’t get around to sharing it until now. It has a bit of a retro feel but I feel like the tiger stripes are more unique. The coat is really flattering with an aline shape.

I thought I would do a recap on how January went with focusing on mindful shopping.

I did do some shopping during January. It started with these boots (seen in this post). I had been trying to find a great pair of leopard boots and they fit the bill. Since I don’t have another pair leopard boots I consider this to fit within the mindful shopping realm.

After I hurt my leg mindful shopping went a bit out the window. I bought some tops I didn’t need. I bought for a season we are not currently in. I blame the fashion industry for the second one but I guess if I lived more south of here we would be closer to spring than where I am; it could be winter for a good 2 to 3 more months.

This top is fantastic. It is my favourite layering top. Great for travel and everyday really. This is the other top I got, I like it but not as much as the first.

I also ordered this dress. I guess you could layer it with a turtleneck and stockings underneath but truly I will only wear it once it gets warmer. It is really flattering on and lots of fabric to not have to layer a cami underneath.

I also fell prey to my own vacation posts. I ordered this dress and some really cute flower pjs.

I ordered a bunch of jeans to try but returned all but these which replace an older too small pair of grey jeans.

Overall I am not too disappointed with January. I didn’t completely stay away from shopping. And I did buy somethings I didn’t truly need. But for the most part I just filled some gaps.

Mindful shopping is a great mantra for January. Not just the fashion industry to blame: shopping vintage means I am often acquiring things out of season. Like a row of tweeds in the summer. Love your animal print obsession.

You are right part of it is just giving into the constant push to buy. Animal print is so good right now!
