Summer is not Over

I took these pictures a few weeks ago but it is an outfit I know I will be able to wear again in the next few weeks. Summer might be winding down but it isn’t really over. We might have more cooler mornings mixed into our days but the 20 plus degree weather is still going to be around for for the foreseeable future.

I find September a bit bittersweet. Kids are going back to school after summer holidays. Work schedules get busier. As much as I want to wear ALL THE COATS I also don’t want the warm weather to go away. Just the humidity. That can clear out.

My mantra this summer was to spend more time enjoying it and not wishing it away. It isn’t my season. I prefer layers and the crispness of fall. I mostly feel uncomfortable in summer. But come about February everyone wishes for the hot summer days to come back and instead of a vicious cycle of wishing away the season we are in I choose to just live in the season. I can’t say I didn’t hate on summer at all this year but I can say it was better.

The main way I transition summer outfits to fall is through jackets. Cute blazers, leather biker jackets and trench coats.

And you can score all of those on sale right now.

Loving this blazer (another option here), this biker and this classic trench.

What were you up to for the Labour Day weekend? Do you have that where you are? We hung around home performing the exciting task of power washing and staining our fence.
