We have had a few colder mornings and while I haven’t pulled out a warmer coat yet I have started thinking about them more. There are a few colours and styles that are on my radar for this fall winter season.
Coats on my radar
Burgundy coats : coat 1 // coat 2 // coat 3
Burgundy is a trend that I am seeing everywhere this year. Knits, bags and even coats. If you are wanting to add more colour to your wardrobe but are not used to wearing colour this is a good option. The three coats range in shades that are more earthy tones to wine coloured and more purple tones.
Plaid coats: blue plaid // green plaid // brown plaid
If you are ready to make a statement with your outerwear a plaid coat is it. More bold than just a colour it is the type of coat I would add to my wardrobe after I have the basics. Even though the plaid seems bold all of these are essentially neutrals because of the colour combinations making them easy to pair over your everyday wardrobe. I am partial to the green plaid one myself.

If you want something new but you still want to look chic and not stand out too much try some earthy tones instead. There is something luxurious about these rich tones that I just can’t shake. Plus you can punch them up with bold scarves, hats or bags. I have the coat on the right (I have reviewed it here and here) in two versions and can highly recommend.
