Camel Winter Coat

winter outfit

While this wasn’t the first snow of the season this might be the first snow that stays for longer than one day. We haven’t had a White Christmas in quite a few years so I am actually really looking forward to having snow earlier in the season!

The best thing about all this snow is that the kids have been so genuinely excited. First at school with what seemed like more than half the kids joining in to make all kinds of snow men, and then this weekend spending hours sledding out on whatever hill they could find no matter the size.

When it comes to dressing in the snow it really depends on whether I am going to be in the car or walking around out in the snow. It really isn’t any colder than it has been without the snow so hats and big scarves are no different. It really comes down to footwear. If I am just going to be going from the car to the destination I will wear a boot or shoe. This is also assuming I am not going to have to crawl through snow banks. If on the other hand I am going for a walk or joining in sledding with the kids I will wear my winter boots and a parka. Snowpants too if I am going to be outside for a while.

Later in the day we spent time walking around to look at all the Christmas lights in the park and then checked out the most light up Clark Giswald-esque house in our neighbourhood. Everything looks more magical with a layer of snow.

Outfit details: Coat H&M, hat Joe Fresh, stripe top Banana Republic, jeans JCREW (I haven’t worn these in a while and I forgot how good they are!), scarf Free People (so soft!!! I am tempted to get it in another colour).

Hope you are enjoying the snow!
