The trees are starting to get vibrant here in Southern Ontario. But we are still having some hot afternoons. That said the heat isn’t going to be around much longer. I thought I would share some things I have found that would work now and a bit later when the afternoons aren’t 26 degrees.
Fall outfits for now and later
Merino wool Crewneck – This is a great time for merino sweaters. Espeically a thinner knit like this one. Mornings are chilly but you don’t want something super bulky because by afternoon you will be melting.
Cord Wide Leg trousers – I haven’t pulled out my cords quite yet but I have a pair of these from last year and they are fantastic. I find that cords are more forgiving that jeans because the softer fabric gives more.
Field jacket – I read somewhere that these jackets are back. I and a fair few others wondered when they actually left? Sure maybe they weren’t as prolific as back in say 2013 but they weren’t exactly gone either. I like the look of this one because it is oversized.
Silver sneakers – I am still wearing these as my casual sneakers but I really like the look of these silver ones.
Studio Block Heel boots – these are basically the Boss boots updated for 2025. The only real difference I can see is that the ankle shaft is a bit higher. The taupe brown has already sold out.
Merino v neck cardigan – I have this sweater. It is a bit cropped but fits loose and drapes nicely. Also a good weight. Not super thin but not chunky and heavy.
Super wide leg jeans – I feel like now is the time for wide leg jeans before they are dragging in the snow.
Voluminous Coat – Some time in October it will start to be coat weather. Well usually. Definitely by November. So then you can switch the field jacket for a gorgeous purple wool coat. I have this same coat in navy.
Maia bag – I love the shape of this bag. It has two compartments similar to the Celine trio bag. There is a cross body strap. This bag comes in suede and leather.
What are you looking forward to for autumn?
