Workhorse of Workwear

I thought I would post one of my favourite work outfits. There are plenty of people out there talking about having a work uniform. For some reason these work uniforms always seem to revolve around black trousers and a white shirt. And in fact end up looking exactly like a uniform you would be forced to wear at a restaurant or some other service job. When in reality your uniform can be anything you like to wear so much that you will wear it over and over. For me it is a stripe button down and these blue trousers (which I also own in a burgundy colour). Without fail this is some semblance of my Monday outfit. The one that I put on to feel good Monday morning even though it is a work day once again. 

Obviously I can’t wear cobalt blue pants everyday. Well I could I guess but I have some other great JCREW trousers that I rotate through with other stripe button down shirts or sweaters. Uniform dressing doesn’t have to be so literal it is simply a formula that works for you and makes it easier to get dressed every morning.

Spring and summer are when I pull my embellished clutches out of storage. This gorgeous pommed beauty is an etsy find and it was so worth the wait. All the detail is amazing!
