Things I bought and liked LATELY
While I have been doing quite a bit of Christmas shopping I have also found some great things for myself. I tend to just go ahead and buy my own gifts. Less disappointment that way.
Originally I bought a cheap Zara dupe of this sweater and it was horrible. So I decided just to bite the bullet and buy the real deal. I also originally thought I would put this away for Christmas but it is just too gorgeous. I love how soft it is. I love the details at the cuffs and hem. I love that the turtleneck doesn’t have to be rolled. Highly recommend.
I bought two more pairs of my favourite jeans in different washes. I swear by the rinse version. I have two pairs, one I cropped and one I left alone. I have the white which fits smaller. The black also fits a bit smaller but not as much as the white. The catskill wash fits looser. It really is bonkers how the same “fit” of jeans can fit so differently in the same size when only the wash has changed. Still these are the perfect straight jean that doesn’t end up looking like a wide leg jean nor does it look like a skinny jean when sized up to a 12/14.
Last day to get 15% off my houndstooth coat. This might be my favourite purchase of the year. It does fit large. You don’t need to size up. And ignore the reviews that say the coat pills. I have seen no pilling. I also like the oversized drapey fit. If you want it to fit closer to your body size down.
I shared how to style these plaid pants in my last post. Since then my package arrived and I adore these! The black watch plaid is more subtle and the polka dots add a bit of fun. I wore the red plaid to a Christmas function the other night and they were very festive.
Do you have a favourite pair of PJs that you make sure to wear as soon as they come out of the wash? These are those for me right now.
This quilted sweatshirt is put away for Christmas and it pains me that it is. I don’t really want to wait for it but I am practicing some restraint. I like the soft feel and the length.
These quilted leggings are also put away for Christmas but are SO GOOD. The front is quilted and they are fleece lined. Great winter leggings. Perfect for winter walks when you don’t want to wear snow pants but want something a bit warmer. I will be wearing these for the school run through January and February for sure.
If you are always cold upgrade your turtlenecks to this merino blend. It isn’t itchy and it doesn’t feel heavy. Just a great base layer for outfits or even for skiing and outdoor activities. I have the green but am thinking I also need the black.

I do find the shopping a bit slim pickings this year compared to other years. I think part of it is I am so over understated beige outfits. I want more colour and glitz! That is definitely why I bought the plaid pants. I feel like I should grab this while I can too.
