Sezane has opened its archives and the Marlone Coat that I bought last year is part of the Archives. The Sezane Archives is a way to rediscover pieces from previous collections at a gentle price. Which is code for sale items that have limited sizes. This Sezane Marlone Coat Review will share what I like and don’t like about this coat.
Sezane Marlone Coat Review
The Sezane Marlone Coat is an oversized coat with woven texture. It comes in two colours. One has more of an orange base and the one I have has more of a pink base.
The beauty of this coat is the woven knit has a number of different colours to pull from when accessorizing. The berry pink, the olive green, black. There is even teal and a metallic thread. Up close this coat is absolutely gorgeous.
The coat is oversized. It is quite large. I could easily size down. But staying true to size allows for layering thick chunky knits. The shape is a bit cocoon.
There is a drop sleeve with cuffs. The coat closes with poppers which usually detract from a coat but these poppers are the prettiest ones I have ever seen. They are like a faux tortoise shell and they blend into the coat.
The biggest drawback to this coat is that it is not lined. As someone who lives in a country that gets proper winter this is a massive drawback. You need to layer up under this coat to ensure that you don’t feel the wind through the weave. However you can see from the photos I did wear it in winter, I just made sure to layer up more than I would with other coats. This coat would be a great contender to layer a packable down layer underneath.
On the flip side you can wear this as more of a coatigan in milder temperatures increasing the months this coat is useable.
If I am honest photos don’t do this coat justice. The detail in the woven fabric is just not captured in the same way you see it in person. There is pale blue, teal, metallic copper and hot pink that you don’t see without looking at it up close. It is a beautiful work of art. Getting this coat for just over $100 off full price is a great deal.

Sezane makes some really gorgeous pieces. They are known for good quality designs with a french flair. They ship super fast. I can get something from Sezane faster than I get something shipped from within Canada.

I am wearing the 44. I am a US 12/14 or a size L/XL depending on the brand and how things fit. This coat is oversized. I could easily fit into a size smaller but I like the room to fit layers and prefer an oversized look to more fitted. Hope that helps!
