Raincoat Season

I awoke in the night to hear torrential rain hitting the roof. We are officially in rain season which means changing out from wearing wool coats and insulated parkas to something more waterproof. I have a few requirements when it comes to my rain gear. I would prefer waterproof to water resistant. I need it to be longish. Preferably not cropped anyways. And it definitely needs a hood. I don’t want to carry an umbrella. These are the best rain coats right now.

10 Raincoats for Spring

  1. Amel Aline Rain Jacket – If you are looking for something long but not too long and a neutral trench like colour this is a great option.
  2. Dark Leopard Rain Mac – I love the length and lightweight look of this coat. Plus it is leopard! Something different if you want a fun coat.
  3. Long Line Rain Mac – I love the colour blocking on this one. Adds a bit of fun but still grounded in a neutral colour first.
  4. Victoria Rain Slicker – first off Red is a nice change for a rain coat. But it also comes in yellow! What makes this coat for me is the lining. A bit sportier looking that the first options.
  5. Adela Hooded Waterproof Jacket – this has a very classic look about it. And this is a colour I am drawn to. Also found here for Canadians.
  6. Stormmove rain coat – If you are looking for a basic black this is a good option. Probably the most affordable of the bunch.
  7. Rain Jacket with Stormmove – This is the short version of the one above. Also comes in black.
  8. Mosebacke Rain Jacket – This is a brand I have been meaning to try as they are known for their rain coats. So many different colour options so if you don’t’ like the shiny green just find the version you like.
  9. Rains Long Jacket – This is another company I have been meaning to try as again they are known for their rain gear. There are again so many colour options. You could go for this coat in a black or moss green or navy but metallic purple is pretty fun! Also found here for Canadians.
  10. Maxi Raincoat – If you are looking for something long, whether you like to be fully covered or you are tall this is a great option.

What makes your perfect rain coat? Do you prefer a trench coat and carrying an umbrella? Or do you throw on a waterproof jacket with hood?
