Plaid Pants and Biker Leather
It was only a matter of time after all the printed pants we have seen the past few seasons that tartan trousers would find a way out of preppy obscurity into the main stream.
Whether it is the whole resurgence of 90's grunge or punk at the met, or whether I am just already feeling the Christmas spirit but I am loving plaid pants right now.
I posted a glimpse at another outfit with these plaid pants over on my instagram feed, but to start I wanted to style these for every day not something that felt seasonal.
So instead of playing up the whole Christmas feel with more red or green, I went with cream cashmere and leather.
I have been searching for the perfect plaid trousers since the temperatures started falling and all those wonderful street style photos from fashion month didn't help. But so many options were either too skinny (ie punk like) or dark green which was more safe than I wanted to go.
In fact my idea would have been a fantastic red plaid wool trouser but the only ones I could find were by Preen (here or here) and are SO FAR out of my price range.
So I went with the polyester JOE FRESH version. I am very happy with them, they have a shiny taffeta making them a bit more dressy and they fit like my other fave Joe Fresh pants from the spring (seen here) which is perfect.
I ordered them off the new JOE FRESH online store and they shipped super fast, which of course I love.

Can you tell me how those plaid pants fit?? I just ordered them and not sure how they run!
Hi Carol, they fit similar to their other printed pants but because they are polyester not cotton they don't give as much. If you are used to how their cotton trousers fit and ordered the same size you should be ok.
I've never ordered them before. Just wondering if they run big, small or true to size, they look adorable on you! Are they a women's size or juniors?

Hi Carol they are women's sizes. I generally run a 10 - 12 in pants (especially dress pants) and I ordered these in a 10. They are snug through the thigh on me but that is my "problem area". Hope that helps!
