Plaid, check, tartan. Whatever you call it for me it is fall staple not a trend. In some form it is always there. This year I am loving bold boyfriend style coats in gorgeous colourful plaids.

I love how plaids have been reinvented recently in bold colours. As much as I love a traditional red plaid they can come off as Christmasy. The pastels and that bold blue are fantastic for something more unexpected.

Just as easy to wear for work as for weekend style, these coats would look great especially with black. Think skinny black jeans, some chelsea boots and a felt hat or slouchy beannie. Even try a contrasting plaid scarf. I could see this coat with this scarf.
