Old Hair, New Hair, Grey Hair, Blue Hair

I finally got a hair cut this past weekend and I am so in love with my hair again. My latest stylist seems to be a genius, she can do no wrong. For now …

You see I am a fickle client. I seem to change hair stylists like the wind. I have changed stylists because I have moved, because I got a cut I didn’t like or because I just needed a change. I find sometimes I just keep getting the same hair cut no matter what I try to communicate as my hair vision.

So after I made the bad decision to cut my hair short last year and then when I was starting the “growing it out” phase I felt like I was still getting a short “mom” cut from my hairdresser I decided to try somewhere else after letting my hair grow for what seemed like forever.

I went to The Alcorn off in Rosedale and was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting to feel like a fish out of water in such an affluent neighbourhood salon, even though I LOVE walking around there, and I ended up feeling right at home.

Justyna has given me two great cuts now, simple but AMAZING. I love the way my hair moves and she totally got that I was growing out my hair and cut it accordingly.

So the two photos above are meant to be my before shots, but you totally don’t get the bad grown out layers vibe. So check out this post for a better idea of my hair in a non-instigram world. The “after” picture you can see that my hair is healthier, but you can also see in this post that my hair has its bounce back. That and I have re-embraced my velcro rollers!

Now to cover all my grey (totally another hair story, but lets just say I got my first when I was 19) and I will be SET for Toronto Fashion Week!

How do you handle your hair woes? Are you loyal to the end or do you change salons like you change your underwear?
