Madewell Sneakers Review

Madewell has a few different sneaker styles. There two main styles are the Kickoff Trainer and the Sidewalk sneaker. These sneakers have been updated with cool fabrics and colours. They are also super cushy with the cloud lift insoles. Sharing my Madewell Sneakers Review to share why these sneakers are the ones I pack for touring and sightseeing.

Madewell Sneakers Review: Sidewalk Sneaker

The Sidewalk sneaker is the pair of sneakers I have had the longest. They are a leather low top sneaker that resembles the Veja campo sneaker.

The sidewalk sneakers are a a full leather sneaker lined with recycled cotton lining. This style is a best seller. I think it is because of a combination of the fun details and the cloud insoles.

All the sneakers have a fun wavy contrasting leather piece and another colourful leather detail on the back heel.

I have mentioned the insoles a few times now. These sneakers are super comfortable because of the cushy insoles.

I also find this style is really accommodating to wide feet. I didn’t need to loosen up the laces or anything to make these work.

The only negative reviews say they are hard to break in at the heel. I have never worn these sneakers without socks so I can’t speak to that. I always wore no see socks and I never got any blisters. I wore these sneakers sightseeing in Paris and never hand any issues.

If I compare the Sidewalk Sneakers to the Veja Campo sneaker the Sidewalk Sneakers are more cushiony and flexible. The sole on the Veja sneakers is more stiff but as a result the Veja sneakers feel more supportive. They are both good options for wide feet.

Madewell Sneakers Review: Kickoff Trainer

The Madewell Kickoff Trainer are like a funky version of a Dad sneaker. Unlike the low top Sidewalk sneaker the Kickoff Trainer is a clunkier sneaker. The Sidewalk sneaker is lightweight and flexible. The Kickoff Trainer is more like a vintage sneaker. It has much more structure and more to the sole.

I don’t notice the Cloudlift insoles as much in the Kickoff trainers but I think that is because there is so much more sole on these sneakers.

I find the Kickoff Trainers fit a bit more narrow and snug than the Sidewalk sneaker.

If I had to choose one over the other I prefer the Sidewalk Sneaker. Like the more flexible feel and the cushy sole. I also find that they have a better fit for my wide feet. That said both shoes are really comfortable. I just tend to gravitate towards a less chunky sneaker.

Which sneaker would you wear?
