Heatwave Office Style

I thought I should share my heatwave office style since we seem to be in the middle of another warm patch. Most of the summer I stick with dresses but if I am honest I prefer pants. Pants are just what I gravitate towards so I try to have a few pairs that do work for hot summer days

This outfit formula is super easy. Just stick to lightweight natural materials. Cotton and linen are perfect for summer. Also nothing is too tight, more flowy and loose without being unstructured.

I like that these pants are a bit cropped to show off my sandals.

What I like about this outfit is that it isn’t just something I would wear to the office. I would wear this sightseeing too. I would wear this to lunch with friends. It is more versatile than just an outfit for the office.

Wide leg paper bag pants H&M, white blouse Old Navy (old but this or this is similar, this would also work), wedge espadrille sandals Eileen Fisher, Alexander Wang Rocco (consignment here or here).

One of the tough things about dressing for a heat wave is that often our offices are cold inside from the air conditioning. I am lucky that we don’t keep our office overly cold in the summer. Still I do keep a sweater at my office in case I am chilly. Especially when I have no sleeves. I do find that the hotter it is outside the cooler it is inside because air conditioners need to work all day to keep the office cooler. My office is fairly business casual but if you are more business professional you might want to leave a blazer that mixes with most of your wardrobe at the office just in case.

What are you wearing this summer? Are you sticking with dresses and skirts for the office or do you have some summer work trousers as well?
