I was a bit obsessed with finding a plaid coat that was a bit toned down but still very preppy and festive. On top of that I was also interested in a toggle coat. I figured if I could find one or the other that would be a fun addition to my closet this year. But low and behold I found one that does it all, this plaid toggle coat.

I remember in my early teens have a navy toggle coat and I never really felt reminiscent of that coat until recently. I even got my kids these toggle coats for some family photos. Only my husband will be toggle free.
I like that the plaid of this coat is tonal as the stripes are a burgundy colour and not black. It makes the plaid a bit more subtle.
The fit for this toggle coat is true to size with lots of room in the arms to layer sweaters although probably not an excessively chunky knit. There is no back vent which is probably the one detail I miss. However there is more than enough room to walk comfortably so I guess not needed. I just prefer coats that have it included.
The coat also has poppers instead of a zipper. Since I don’t tend to wear this type of coat open I am not fussed although I do prefer zippers.
