Everlane Renew Transit Weekender Review

I have a thing for weekender bags. They are useful for trips to the cottage, longer road trips and even air travel. I seem to collect them because one more always seems to come in handy. Some are better for one type of trip over the other. Everlane came out with a new weekender bag and they sent me one to review for you. This is my Everlane ReNew Transit Weekender review.

Everlane ReNew Transit Weekender Review

I have the older version of the Everlane Weekender. They still sell the Twill Weekender but the ReNew Weekender feels like a bit of an upgrade. The Twill weekender is pretty bare bones. It looks great, fits loads but there are no bells and whistles.

The ReNew Weekender has a laptop sleeve, spots for your water bottle and some other extra pockets and lots of straps. And it costs less!

The ReNew weekender can be carried three different ways. There is a short handle shown above. There is also a shoulder strap and a crossbody strap. Makes the bag easier to grab and go.

One of my favourite features of this bag is the suitcase sleeve. There are two pockets on the outside of the bag. One of them also unzips at the bottom so that you can use it to attach to your luggage. This is a must have feature when flying. Otherwise the weekender is a road trip only bag.

This bag can easily handle what you need to pack for 3 – 4 days. It would work as your personal item when you fly as well. As long as you don’t stuff it full it will easily fit under your seat.

I mentioned there is a laptop sleeve. I tried fitting my laptop in there but it didn’t! My laptop has a 17 inch screen so you will need something smaller to make use of the laptop sleeve.

The two water bottle holders are on the inside of the bag. I actually appreciate this because who hasn’t dropped a bottle when the holder is on the outside?

The ReNew weekender is made of 100% recycled polyester. Its easy to wipe down and keep clean.

You could use this as a commuter bag if you need to lug around lots of stuff every day. But to be honest it seems a bit large to me. I guess if you were going away for the weekend or had to take extra clothes for heading to the gym after work it would be useful.

Personally I am going to use it for weekends at the cottage and the next time I head to the airport.

What do you think of the Everlane ReNew Transit Weekender Review? Is this a bag you need in your life?

Hey! Does this bag fit under an airplane seat? I just bought it and seeing it in person, it seems huge!

Hi Raj,

We have used this bag as a carry on and it does fit under the seat in front of you but I would over pack it. I would say it is a better fit when it isn't super packed.
