Everlane Cloud Turtleneck Review

This is definitely the time of year for a chunky turtleneck. The Cloud Turtleneck is somehow chunky and lightweight at the same time. The mix of Merino Wool, Pima Cotton and Alpaca is super soft. Oversized fit with a tunic length the Everlane Cloud Turtleneck Review will share how this just might be the turtleneck of your dreams. Everlane gifted this sweater but all opinions are my own.

Everlane Cloud Turtleneck Review

The Cloud Turtleneck is made of a mixture of Merino, Cotton and Alpaca wool. This blend makes a simultaneously chunky but super light and soft knit sweater.

Everlane describes this sweater as oversized. Oversized to me as a petite curvy woman can mean the sweater is very large fitting that I need to size down ranging to just not fitted. I would say that like the rest of their sweaters that Everlane describes as oversized (like this or this) it fits more relaxed than truly oversized. I would not size down. Stick with your normal size. I am wearing my usual Large here.

This sweater comes in three different colours. Black, grey and the camel colour I am wearing.

What I like about this sweater in addition to the soft lightweight feel are the details. The long cuffs and hem really make this sweater for me. The longer length is great too. On me it isn’t long enough to wear leggings. But great to wear with skinny jeans or slim trousers.

There are slits at the side which gives this sweater a nicer drape. The slits at the side allow for movement and curves. You don’t get a pooch with the slits the sweater lays flat on the body.

There are a few details I don’t love about this sweater. The first being the seams at the back. From the front it looks like this sweater has a drop shoulder but there are seams on the back of the sweater. When I put this sweater on I feel the seams at the back. It isn’t exactly constricting but I know they are there. It is a bit confusing since there isn’t a corresponding seam at the front.

The second issue is less an issue really but a preference. I really am into turtlenecks that you don’t have to roll over. You can wear this turtleneck that way and I like it better than wearing it rolled over. However I wish the turtleneck length was just an inch or so shorter so that it stood up with out the extra fabric.

The only other drawback is that it is a chunky knit. I love that about this sweater because it is super soft and warm. But I don’t like it because I have to be more conscious of what coat I can wear with the sweater because it is a bit bulky.

All in all this is a gorgeous sweater. Especially if you are looking for a chunky knit sweater that looks chunky but doesn’t feel heavy.
