Everlane Cashmere Square turtleneck review

I have been living in Everlane cashmere the past few winters. I have a few of their crew neck and turtleneck styles. I also own their luxe wool square turtleneck that they used to make in merino wool. So when I saw they were smashing together these two styles I had to give it a go. Everlane kindly gifted me one to try out for an Everlane cashmere square turtleneck review.

Everlane Cashmere Square Turtleneck Review

There are a few obvious differences between Everlane’s classic crew (the $100 one) and their Square turtleneck style aside from the price. Although their classic turtleneck is already more than $100.

The most obvious difference is the shape. The classic style is more streamlined. The square turtleneck is well more square. It drapes away from the body more and feels a bit cropped in comparison but not drastically so.

The turtleneck itself is different from the classic style which is a traditional roll neck. This one is more of a higher mock neck in that you don’t have to roll it over.

I find the cashmere square turtleneck also has more weight to it and I think that is mostly due to the details at the hem and cuffs.

When compared with the luxe wool version of this style the most obvious difference is that the cashmere version is much warmer. The merino wool one was a very thin knit. I liked the sweater but the cashmere version is much better for winter. The sleeves are also looser and longer on the cashmere version.

What I like about this style of sweater is that it is more swingy than their classic cut which is more streamlined. That being said I wish Everlane made their cropped styles with boobs and curves in mind. I feel like it could have been a bit longer to account for curves. Even still I have been wearing this sweater non stop and have received compliments not just on the cool colour but also the style. I have this sweater in Brass, but it comes in nine different colours including camel, navy and black which are the default picks.

I took my normal size (size large) in the square turtleneck. I don’t find it oversized, there is supposed to be some drape.

What do you think of this sweater? Is it one you want to add to your closet?
