December Favourites; 5 Beauty Products to Try

I don’t always try new beauty products but when I do and there is something I like I of course have to share.

I am usually pretty loyal to the products I use but after a few years of being loyal to a product I sometimes stray just to see what is out there. Generally it is to check out some of the products I see on Shoppers Drug Mart shelves. Sometimes this leads to massive dissappointment other times I find new favourites.

1. live clean Fresh Face moisturizer.

I have been using Arbonne RE9 moisturizer for the past year or so. And while I think it is a fantastic product the one drawback is that you have to order it and can’t just pick it up at the store. So when I was at Shoppers Drug Mart I decided to give the Live Clean line a try. The formulation is different but made under the same premise. It is vegan…

The major difference I found with the Arbonne moisturizer was the consistency. Arbonne is thicker, more cream like, whereas the Live Clean is more milky like a lotion. Still even when it has been cold and my face is extra dry the lightweight moisturizer has done the trick.

There is a light scent but as the moisturizer is absorbed the smell disappears which is perfect for someone like me who is scent sensitive.

2. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

Somewhere between a lip stick and a chap stick is Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter. The colour goes on fairly sheer but because the lip stick feels super moisturizing I don’t feel bad about layering it on thick. I have the cherry tart shade which is a great orangey red.

3. Arbonne eye pallet

I bought the Rainforest cosmetic set from Arbonne probably in the summer. I bought it for the orangey red lipstick which was recommended but it wasn’t really the shade I was looking for; it is a bit too orange. But the eye pallet was a welcome surprise. I wasn’t expecting the colours to be so pigmented. They make an amazing statement. There is a vibrant purple and blue included in the pallet plus a gorgeous golden brown. Plus these cosmetics are mineral based so much nice for the eye.

4. live clean cleanser

Ok so this product might be my lease favourite. Not because it doesn’t work, it does. I just have a weird thing with foaming cleansers and soaps. I don’t really get the whole pre-foamed thing. I like creating my own lather, that way I know I am getting clean. My skin also seems to do better with gel cleansers.

Still, aside from the whole foam thing, the Live Clean Fresh Face foaming daily cleanser is nice and light and leaves the skin feeling well fresh. And of course it is organic which I love.

5. Eclos Clay Mask

I think this product surprised me the most. I have used clay masks from time to time to just rejuvenate and cleanse my skin. This one tops the pile. It not only left my skin feeling deeply cleaned it also seemed to turn back the clock. It was super tingle-y ( in a good way) while it was hardening and seemed to be tightening pores while working.

I actually tried this product on a day I was looking super tired and needed to look fresh for an event. I started out with some cucumbers on my eyes to de-puff (totally works, don’t need to buy anything fancy from the drug store just a cucumber). Then I used this mask and had a shower. The transformation was nothing short of amazing. I looked like I had an 8 hr sleep!
