Coat Weather

As I am writing this two things are happening. I can hear the rain pouring outside. It is definitely coat weather although I am certain a different kind is needed rather than the one in this picture.

The second thing is that I am staring down my 40th Birthday which will arrive tomorrow morning as if it was just a another day.

And for all intents and purposes it really is just another day. While I like my Birthday as an excuse to be a bit selfish I don’t really enjoy the fanfare that comes with it all. So after celebrating how others feel fit to celebrate a birthday with loud singing and making me feel uncomfortable I can celebrate tomorrow how I see fit with hugs and kisses from my family especially my fellow Birthday buddy my son!

I don’t particularly feel 40. I don’t really feel older save for the fact that I have more experiences under my belt. 10 years ago I was pregnant with my first child. The baby years were a part of my thirties. So was this blog as it too will be almost 10 years old. My fourties will be marked with the tween and teen years. I look forward to more travel. We have a trip coming up soon to explore a city my husband and I have never been to so that will be exciting.

I don’t really have any deep thoughts on turning 40. I didn’t complete a 40 things to do before you are 40 list. I just lived. You know laughed and loved and failed and learned. The usual everyday stuff.

So Happy Birthday to me. And cheers to 40 years.

Firstly may i wish you belated birthday wishes. I hope you celebrated in style and had a fabulous day surrounded by family. I do love reading your posts and look forward to them coming through. Now I am going to ask you for advice! I turned sixty, retired and started my own blog www.stylishatsxty.wordpress.com This developed from encouragement by my daughter. Could you share with me any helpful hints to improve ? I would really appreciate it. Many thanks - Jill x

To be honest just keep blogging. With anything in life blogging gets better and easier with practice. And read as many blogs as you can and learn from what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong. Don't get caught up in social media. But use Pinterest as it can drive many people to your blog. And just be yourself!
