Christmas Gifts Success and Failures

The big day is over and we have opened all our gifts. As usual some went over better than others. I thought I would share some of our favourite gifts and the ones that were total fails.

Fleece turtleneck – I am wearing this right now and it is cozy and warm. The neck is a good length to not have to roll over. Keeps me toasty without having to layer up. I am thinking I might get one in another colour.

Five Minute Mysteries – I got this for the older tween and the whole family has been enjoying it. Solve mysteries and cyphers. You can even play by yourself which is perfect for when you don’t want to have to play along.

Cashmere turtleneck – First off this is on super sale. I mean when can you get cashmere for under $50? I actually got two cashmere turtlenecks for Christmas and while I like both of them I actually prefer this cheaper version. It is thinner but it drapes nicely and is longer.

cozy sweatshirt – this was the first thing I wore after opening our presents. It is plush, relaxed and cozy. Perfect for lounging.

Kids dart board – my son didn’t put much on his list this year so I had to get creative. This dart board has been a hit!

Kinetic sand was both a win for my son and a fail for my niece. But the biggest fail was the Old Navy Pjs which were sized so wrong the women’s small fit my 9 year old son who is super skinny. That is when I knew it wasn’t the wrong size it was just bad sizing. The tops are worse than the bottoms. It is so disappointing because I got these last year and they were so good!

I have taken advantage of some boxing day sales. H&M has 20% off everything in Canada. Seems to be up to 50% off in US. And I grabbed some stuff from GAP.

There is a huge sale on over at Everlane. These boots and cashmere are my top picks.

Are you shopping the end of season sales?
