Agave Lip Balm Dupe

My favourite lip balm of all time was the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm. But in 2022 Bite Beauty closed down and gone was their lip balm. I didn’t stock up ahead of time and now I have been searching for an Agave Lip Balm Dupe. There are some great options out there but few that have the same texture and thickness.

The Agave Lip Balm that I was using was the reformulated version. There were very strong opinions for and against the original version. Some found it too stiff others thought the new version was too soft. Personally it was exactly what I like. It went on smoothly but had a thicker, tacky texture. It feels very nourishing and doesn’t have an overpowering scent.

Winter in Canada can be very dry. I find I use lip balm way more through the winter but do use it all year round. Some lip balms are very hydrating while others it feels like you have to apply again and again. I have tried a bunch of lip balms lately on my search to find an Agave Lip Balm dupe.

Lageine Lip Sleeping Mask – I have had this tub for a long time because a little goes a long way. The original berry version has a bit of a retro strawberry lip balm smell. The texture is really gooey and glossy. I only ever wear this at night because of the gooey glossy texture but it works really well to turn your lips around over night.

Sugar Advanced Therapy Hydration Lip Balm– This is one of the newer lip balms I have tried. And I do really like it even though the consistency is not similar to the Agave lip balm. It is more slipy but it does hydrate well. I actually bought this in some of the coloured shades as well (this is my favourite). Supposedly it is plumping. I have never really noticed this plumping effect. It has a nice smell as well.

Brazillian Kiss Capuacu Lip Butter– This lip balm is somewhere between Sugar and the Agave lip balm. It is slightly tacky but I do find this is one that I have to apply over and over. I do like the smell though.

Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm – I find this one very similar to Brazillian Kiss in terms of texture, somewhere between the Agave and Sugar lip balms. It has no scent but it is quite small.

Lanolips Coconutter Lanostick – this is it. This is the one that is the Agave Lip Balm dupe. It has a thicker tackier texture gives the same feel. It has a nice coconut scent. There are also tube versions that are even thicker if you want something more intense. The tube version is not as gooey and glossy as the Lageine mask.

The only issue with my dupe is that Lanolips is no longer sold at Sephora and to get it in Canada you have to order from the US.

Another one I tried recently is the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. I quite like the applicator but it is more glossy than the others. Calling it a butter is a bit misleading. Maybe melted butter. It is lovely though but not a match to the texture of Agave Lip Balm.
