Acid wash

I have never owned a pair of acid wash jeans. When they were cool in the late 80’s I was 10 and way too preppy to wear acid wash. Or rather my mother was since I wasn’t buying my own clothes back then. I do still remember the older girls when I entered high school still rocking the big hair and acid wash even though the rest of us were into grunge. But it was Canada before the internet made trends more easily accessible. Wasn’t that the running gag in How I met your Mother, that Canada was behind the times. Lol well we were definitely back then. But I digress. Acid wash jeans have been coming back lately with 80’s and 90’s trends coming around again. I decided to dabble in these which are much more bleached out than the more spotty acid wash of 1988 but still a cool alternative to the usual light wash jean.

Since we have been having some cooler weather I was able to throw on a blazer without melting. I originally paired my outfit with these sandals but thought it would be cool to re-imagine the outfit once the temperatures drop enough to wear boots.

These jeans are pretty high waisted. Like above my belly button. But that means they work with tshirts tucked in which I am so not used to doing. If you are short waisted I would avoid these jeans because you will have too much material in the crotch region. I like that I don’t have to hem these jeans but I am thinking I might want to crop them a bit more as I prefer to wear my jeans a bit cropped with boots.

While these jeans definitely don’t look as classic as a dark wash pair I do like them for a bit of variety. I like this style of jean to pair with sneakers for travelling as opposed to always wearing skinny jeans. I think the straight leg works a bit better with flat shoes.

My sunglasses are bonlook. I plan on doing a post about them as they turned out really great. I have my perscription in there and I feel like these are a old Celine dupe for an affordable price.
