Korean Sunscreen you need to try

This past holiday I took a number of different Korean Sunscreen’s for our family to try out. Dermatologists and beauty gurus alike rave about the filters in Korean Sunscreens as being superior to what we are used to. They also feel more like skincare going on the face. Because that is my biggest pet peeve with sunscreens; how they feel on the face and how they make my face feel afterwards. Because either they irritate and break me out or they feel heavy on the skin or both! These Korean sunscreens will change how you feel about wearing sunscreen.

Korean Sunscreen You Need to Try

Beauty of Joseon – this feels less like a sunscreen and more like a beautiful moisturizer. And not only does it glide over the skin easily it feels like you have nothing on when it soaks in. No greasy feel, just slightly matte texture. Really great if you have oily skin like me. This was my favourite and my son’s favorite. But it is not a stick so it takes a bit more effort to apply.

Abib Sun Stick – I tried both the Airy Sun Stick and the Quick Sun stick. We used the Quick sun stick the most and it has a more gel like texture than the other options. It glides on very easily which makes it very quick and easy to get good coverage. It feels like a light gel cream going on the face. It does feel a bit greasier than some of the other options but it smooths in easily if you just run your fingers over after application. This was my daughters favorite of the ones we tried. The Airy sun stick is supposed to be more matte which it is compared to the Quick sun stick but I found some of the other brands more matte overall.

Tocobo Sun Stick – This sunstick is closer in consistency to the Beauty of Joseon one in that it is more solid stick and not a gel consistency. But it doesn’t go on as dry and matte. It has a cucumber scent just like the liquid Cica Calming Sun Serum.

Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick – This sunscreen stick is more solid than the Abib options in that it doesn’t have that same gel consistency. It feels lighter on the skin when it goes on and leaves the most gorgeous matte finish. It almost seems to go on dryer somehow. This was my favourite sun stick option.

Tocobo Cica Calming Sun Serum – this has light cucumbery scent. It sticks out because all the other options are pretty much scent free. Not that it is overpowering but it is there. This goes on smoothly and feels light similar to the Beauty of Joseon one but is less matte feeling. It feels a bit more creamy whereas the Beauty of Joseon option is slightly more liquid.

For me personally I really like the Beauty of Joseon sunscreens the best. But really I would use any of them and be happy. The Abib sun sticks glide on the easiest so if you are looking for the quickest option and you don’t care for matte products go for Abib. I used to be team mineral sunscreens but these options are so much better for the face especially. And particularly if you are oily or easily break out.
