I am still working through the array of samples I received from Beautyphica and the second brand I chose to try out after Nuxe Paris was Katima’a.
Katima’a translates into “a woman who carries a secret”. The secret of the Katima’a brand is Moroccan Argan Oil.
Most of you will be familiar with Argan Oil from the Moroccan Oil brand of products for your hair but Katima’a is all about your skin. The premium Virgin Argan Oil used in these products is both anti-aging and highly moisturizing.
The first product I tested out was the Katima’a Day Care moisturizer. I really liked the texture of the creme which was creamy without being too thick. Much like the Nuxe products it was absorbed into the skin fairly quickly without any residue or excessive rubbing and patting.
The one thing I noticed that there was no smell or perfumes. I guess what little you do smell is the Aragan Oil and Meristem Oak Root extract, but really this creme is pretty fragrance free.
Even when I try out natural products and the perfumes are merely essential oils of the ingredients I find myself avoiding using them again unless the scent is VERY faint. I have found through trial and error that just because a brand or product is labelled natural doesn’t mean that it is safe for those with scent allergies. Nevertheless, I was very impressed with the Katima’a Day Care and was pleasantly surprised that one of the active ingredients is a UV resistant layer.
I was equally pleased with the Katima’a Night Care creme. The active ingredients are a bit different with Aragan Oil and Aloe, plus ingredients to boost elasticity and unify the skins micro-relief. What I found from using it was that it was slightly thicker than the day care creme but ultimately absorbed well and again NO SMELLS
I also tried the Katima’a Body Satin Oil from the travel kit. I have used oils as a moisturizer before but find that they can leave your hands greasy because the oil takes longer to absorb into super dry winter skin. This body oil was better than anything I have tried before however and in fact I would highly recommend this over a body butter as it leaves your skin soft and smooth but not greasy and you don’t have to spend alot of time massaging in creme!
The Katima’a products are not exactly cheap but they aren’t outrageously expensive when it comes to quality skin care. If you are looking for a way to test out some products I would suggest getting the travel kit as you get an array of products and can get a sense of if you too will like the Katima’a line.
