Quince Rain Trench Coat Review
Rain coats are not usually something that can come off as chic and dramatic. Usually they look more functional and sporty. Even if they are in a bold colour or print the rain jacket still looks more functional that cool. When I first saw the Quince Rain Trench Coat I thought two things. Wow that is a gorgeous colour and I have never seen a rain coat bring so much drama. This is the Quince Rain Trench Coat review.

Quince Rain Trench Coat Review
The full name of this is the Weather Proof Rain Trench Coat. The high performance technical fabric is waterproof which is really important for a rain coat. Water resistant doesn't cut it in the middle of a downpour.
The details are where this coat shines. There is a removable hood, high collar, adjustable cuffs, covered pockets, storm flap at the back and adjustable draw cord at the waist. The fabric is made of recycled materials. It is waterproof and seam sealed. The fabric is water repellent and wind proof. There are hidden side seam zip pockets that I didn't even know were there until I started looking at the listed details on the website.

All that said the most obvious feature is that this is a long rain coat. But not like some other rain jackets are a long straight column of rubber this is much more dramatic. There is a slight high low hem and a line shape.

Size wise I took an XL. The size recommendation for this coat is to size down but I chose not to because I want to be able to layer as the weather gets colder. A tighter classic trench coat fit is not what I was looking for in a rain jacket. I want room to fit knits underneath otherwise the use of this coat would be limited. I would have been able to size down as there is lots of room in the shoulders and I have no issues zipping. That said I am happy with my regular size. I don't feel like I am drowning in the coat and sizing down was necessary.

Even though I really didn't need this coat because I still like my old rain jacket, I am very happy I got this coat. I love the colour. It is reading more purple here but it is a burgundy. I also really like the dark green option. I love the shape and drama. Don't get me wrong up close the coat looks like a technical jacket. But it eschews the normal sporty look with the long and dress like shape.
What do you think of the Quince Rain Trench Coat review? Is this a style you want to add to your closet?
