Beyond Nine Bobbi Trousers Review
Beyond Nine is a brand that came on my radar within the last year or two. They are a UK brand that is know for their linen pants particularly their fun stripe styles. The barrel leg styles are what drew me in but in the end it was one particular stripe style I kept going back to. I first shared these pants in a three ways to wear post, but I wanted to wear them more and wash them before I did a full review.
The Bobbi trouser I have is a linen pant with a front pleat and elastic waist. There are deep side seam pockets and contrasting stripe back pockets. These are supposedly a crop style but on me at 5'4 they are just a regular pant. They are high waisted as well and sit above my belly button.
Size wise I got the XL which converts to a us 12 -14. They are very roomy through the hips and legs. There is gorgeous drape without them bring extremely wide. As I said above these pants are high waisted and have loads of room in the crotch. Personally I like this as it gives a retro trouser feel. I am also long waisted so this style of pant balances out my proportions. If you are short waisted and prefer a lower rise these might have too much volume in the crotch for your liking.
The only issue I would say is that they can be a bit snug pulling over my bum. The elastic could be a bit stretchier. I noticed other people said the same thing in the reviews on the website and seems to be an issue with this specific style. This makes no impact on actually wearing the pants though. The elastic feels comfortable on the waist and there is loads of room in the pants.
These pants did shrink slightly in the laundry. Mostly in the length but overall I felt like the size of the pants were toned down by the laundry.
The weight of the linen is a bit heavier than you usually get with your run of the mill linen pants. The one benefit to heavier linen is that it doesn't wrinkle the same way. I find these pants are more polished because they don't wrinkle as easily. '
Overall I am really happy with these trousers. I love the contrast cuff on the leg. I like the fit and style. I like the kind of artsy vibe of the stripes.
I do think these pants are easier to style with black so that is why I showed them with a denim shirt here so show another option. I would also go with a red tees or knits.
