Unbound Merino Crew Sweater Review
Unbound Merino is known for their tees and the idea that you can pack less and own less because you can get more wears before washing. I tried their tees first and then when I saw this stripe crew sweater I wanted to try that too. It ticked all the boxes of what I was looking for in a long sleeve stripe top. But was it actually worth it? This is my Unbound Merino Crew Sweater Review.

Unbound Merino Crew Sweater Review
As mentioned above I did have some experience with Unbound Merino from trying out their tees. They advertise that the tees can be worn more than once and don't retain odor the same way cotton does. Plus the merino wool is soft and warm when it needs to be and cool wicking away moisture when it needs to be. The tees live up to all the marketing hype. So when I was looking for a long sleeve stripe tee I decided to try this sweater to see if it would meet my expectations.

The first thing that drew me to this sweater was the stripes because I was looking for a black stripe top. I wasn't finding what I wanted in a t-shirt so I expanded the search to sweaters. This merino wool sweater is fine gauge which means it is fairly lightweight and not chunky so it has about as much bulk as a tee.
I am also drawn to the stripe pattern in that it has that starts part of the way down stripe as opposed to an all over stripe.

Size wise I got the XL. Now the size chart says this is a 16-18 US. I would argue this fits like a 14 if I am comparing it to Sezane sizing but similar to Banana Republic XL. Unbound Merino considers this a classic fit, straight cut up and down. It does not fit oversized. But at the same time it isn't fitting tight and slim. I recommend to take your larger size to have a comfortable fit, since this sweater has a slimmer fit,.
The feel of the fabric is soft and not itchy.
At the back there is a seam down the middle that provides some visual interest. The shoulders also have some ribbing to allow give when putting the sweater on and taking it off.

Overall my Unbound Merino crew sweater review is that this is a great option. It looks good, feels soft, luxurious even and works for a range of temperatures through the year. It is also thin enough that you can layer it underthings very easily. I would definitely buy again.
