This isn’t my first go at striped pants. I remember I had a pair back when I was in grade 9 that were affectionately called my Beatlejuice pants. Now in my late 40s I have a few different pairs of stiped pants. I recently purchased a pair of the viral Beyond Nine Bobbi pants and I thought I would share three ways I am wearing these pants to inspire you to go for bold, fun pants.
First off know that these pants are voluminous. They are wide legged linen pants. I got the XL which is supposed to translate to a US 12 -14 but I would say they are pretty generous.
So the first way I am wearing these pants is probably the most obvious and that is with a black t-shirt. Mine is this one from Unbound Merino (reviewed here). Merino tees come off a bit more elevated in real life because they are soft and just somehow look fancier than a basic cotton tee.

The second way I am wearing these pants is if I had to dress up a bit more to go somewhere. If I was going out for dinner or to the theater.
Adding a top with volume to wide leg pants doesn’t seem like it will work but it totally does when you tuck and style with a big belt. Adding a belt is how I am upping the style factor of all my elastic waist linen pants. It is the greatest fake out because it is harder to tell if I am rocking the elastic waist or not with the belt layered on top.

My final outfit is if I wanted a fun casual outfit with sneakers and a pop of colour. If I had them I would probably chosen a gold sneaker but I don’t have any so I went with the silver. I just think gold would have been a better tonal fit. I stayed with the black but any kind of graphic tee would work. And I know Gen Zs are trying to kill the cross body but I just don’t want to have to hold a bag on my shoulder. They don’t stay there so why not use the bag as intended? It is called a cross body bag for a reason.
