What I bought and I liked; Spring has sprung

It has been absolutely ages since I posted anything here. Even longer since I posted an outfit post. We had a dozy of a winter. So much snow the logistics became too hard to do outfit pictures. And then with being busy at work and shopping less because of the whole will there won’t there be tariffs situation I just didn’t have the mental bandwidth to be here too. Now work is starting to ease up and I have done some shopping for upcoming beach holidays I feel like I have something to say again.

Most of what I have been buying lately has been for my kids. My son in particular has grown out of all the clothes that fit him last summer. We tried on things to see what we could pack for an upcoming trip and it became evident very fast that we had to rebuild his warm weather wardrobe. I got him shorts, linen pants and these bathing suits.

My daughter hasn’t really grown out of much but her style seems to be evolving. We got some fun tops (this and this), built in bra tanks, and beach pants.

For myself I am sticking with what I know works. I got another pair of the linen pants above. This is my third pair of this style and I love them. It takes a while to ship but the quality is amazing.

In addition to the more carrot leg style I also ordered a wide leg style and they are just as good. I highly recommend this Etsy shop.

I ordered a couple of button front linen tops too. I am not sure why I thought another blue and white stripe was needed but when I hung it in my closet it is totally different than my other styles. I also got this light pink and can now more closely recreate this look.

On a whim I did a Banana Republic order since they had 30% off for members (aka newsletter subscribers). I am almost certain I will be sending at least one thing back but we will see when these things arrive.

The green shirt dress is the item I think will work. I like that you can button it normally or asymmetrically. I plan on using this as a beach dress, it might be too casual for the office.

The yellow skirt I hope works because I like the unique colour and the paperbag waist. But I think it might be too straight cut for my body. We will see.

The linen pull on pants I don’t need but the pink on pink stripe is a fun change from what I have. I haven’t had good luck with Banana Republic pants in the past few years so I am hoping these are relaxed fit not super slim.

UPDATE: My Banana order arrived way earlier than expected and I was so wrong. The dress did not work. It was described as oversized and it was not. The pants and skirt are fantastic. So I am sending the dress back and keeping the other two. Basically the complete opposite of what I had originally thought.

The linen top is from an earlier order and is stuck shipping somewhere. I love this rusty colour and the relaxed sleeves. I think it will look great with my linen pants that I have already. Or even with jeans.

So basically I am buying lots of linen because it is all I want to wear once things get warmer.
