JCREW Perfect Winter Parka Review

One of JCREWs popular winter coats is their Perfect Winter Parka. Currently available in olive green and black, this water resistant winter coat is made from recycled plastic bottles. It also sells out in many sizes year after year. In this JCREW Perfect Winter Parka Review I will share what I like and don’t like about this coat and if it truly is the Perfect Parka.

JCREW Perfect Winter Parka Review

The JCREW Perfect Winter Parka is made of water resistant waxed cotton and has a quilted primaloft interior lining with a large sherpa lined hood trimmed with faux fur.

There is also an adjustable drawstring waist. Rib trim cuffs and angled welt flap pockets.

Much like JCREWs other winter coats, their Chateau Puffer and the Chateau Parka all the details on this coat are gold.

The waxed canvas is great for when you are out in wet snow as it doesn’t sink into the coat. It also gives the coat more structure. It also makes the coat more wind resistant as the wind doesn’t seem to permeate the fabric.

I was surprised when I got this coat; it is pretty light weight! I have another parka style coat and it is way heavier than the JCREW Perfect Winter Parka. The Primaloft lining keeps you warm without weighing the coat down.

The hood on this coat is very deep and can be worn a few different ways. Fur out, fur off ( it is removable), fur inside with hood up or inside with the hood down. The hood is also really deep. I basically disappear when I have the fur on the inside of the hood.

I took my usual size in this coat. Don’t size down if you want to be able to layer.

My favourite feature of this coat is how you can wear the hood down, turn the fur inside the hood and zip it all the way up. Perfect for windy days or stormy days when you want to hide from the elements. I feel like I get the protection of the hood without totally hiding inside. Very few coats have this high of a zip. This is so much more protection. If you don’t like wearing a scarf this eliminates the need for one.

This is not my warmest parka. I would say it is about even warmth wise or slightly warmer than my Chateau Puffer. However, it is not as warm as this parka that is also made from old plastic bottles. Even this old parka is warmer with the thick faux fur layer inside.

I also wish this coat was a bit longer. I am not a tall person and I think a couple more inches of length would be ideal. Fleece lined pockets would also be a great addition.

Even with these drawbacks I think this is a pretty great coat. The water resistant wax cotton outer layer and the high zip neckline are two features that make this a premium coat. It may not be exactly perfect, I don’t think there is one perfect winter coat to be honest.

There are also very few days that are polar vortex cold that require the extra warm coats. Which means this coat is a very practical, can handle almost everything that winter throws at it coat.
