Shirt dress style

Yes I inspired my own outfit here. The dress over jeans thing is growing on me especially when I am wearing a tunic or shirtdress. This dress is from Everlane and it has been sitting in my closet since last fall waiting to be worn. It keeps selling out so I had to snatch it up while I could. I did wear this on vacation as a dress but I thought I would switch it up wearing it more as a shirt in this outfit.

If you are looking for a pair of platform espadrilles for the summer I highly recommend the ones I am wearing above from Soludos. They fit true to size and I like how the strap isn’t too high up on the ankle to cut off the leg. Plus they are a neutral shade that will go with every summer dress in your closet.

I am not really in love with the jeans in this post. I have been wearing them for over a year now and while they are comfortable and I like the dark wash I just feel like they aren’t that interesting. They work in an outfit like this where they are layered under something but I feel like I need to up my denim game. I ordered this and this. I have my fingers crossed that they have a high cotton content and don’t feel like leggings. I get the appeal of having the polyester and stretch but I want my denim to be denim and age like denim. I feel like it is so much harder to find these days! I would also love to get a great flare jean. I feel like flares need to come back.

The trees in my neighbourhood are blooming and are so gorgeous. I can’t wait to get out shooting this weekend because the flowering trees make such a lovely backdrop. I am also hoping to get out for a hike this weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We have a long weekend in Canada this weekend. What are you up to?
