It is still winter

We have had a massive amount of snow this year and while that is great for skiing and tobogganing it isn’t really great for outfits. It could just be that I am a bit bored with what I have in terms of winter clothes. It is that time of year that I feel in a rut but it is almost impossible break out of without heading to a different climate.

One of the things I have noticed more this year than others is the amount of people who just don’t dress for the weather. So many bloggers suffer for the sake of a look.

Girls that I know live in Canada and are shooting around Toronto (or some other cold weather city) are going sockless, or bare legged for  the look they are trying to capture.

I guess if that works more power to you but I find it portrays a highly unrealistic way of dressing. I think back to that girl who got frostbite waiting in line in dainty heels on New Years Eve because this idea of how to dress in the cold is dangerously unrealistic.

Another pet peeve of mine is seeing girls wear their Hunter boots in the cold. Have you ever tried wearing rubber rain boots in snow? It is crazy cold! I only did that once.

I have been wearing this navy wrap coat quite a bit just because it allows for lots of warm layers underneath. It isn’t necessarily the warmest coat I have but because I can layer heavy sweaters underneath easily I stay warmer. Same with the boots. They were such a good buy and so warm, but not great in the wetter snow.
