ETSY Binge; What I bought

I recently went on a bit of a binge shopping spree via the now infamous site to buy and sell handmade and vintage wares. I tend to stick to the handmade side and overwhelmingly have spent money on jewellery.

Some of these items I have been looking at for some time in some shape or form, others were a total impulse buy.

I have yet to have a really terrible experience shopping on etsy.com. It is ridiculously easy to buy especially if you have a paypal account. The one thing I have found is that I don’t always judge the scale of the items properly from the pictures. Even though sellers generally note the size in the description I tend to base my perception of the items solely on the photos.

Sue Gray Jewellery Compass Necklace

The first item I bought to arrive was this compass necklace from suegrayjewelry. It was a bit smaller than I was expecting but I quickly got over it because it goes so well with my gold necklaces. I love layering pendants like this and I think the compass seal it just really neat.

Boho bag dazzlinglanna

My husband probably rolled his eyes when I unwrapped this one because I need another purse like I need a hole in my head. But I have been eyeing these tribal inspired bags from dazzlinglanna for maybe a year. What was holding me back was that I really didn’t need it and I couldn’t decide on what one I liked best. Until this particular one popped up. The bags are made with vintage fabrics and since I am a sucker for pretty much anything boho I took the plunge.

The bags ship from Switzerland and it came super fast. I have had shipments take longer from the US. I can’t wait until a bit further in the season when I switch over to this bag. It is taking every ounce of will power to hold off and give my white summer bag a bit more use.

If you are put off by the prices watch the sale section – there are always goodies on sale.

initial necklace SD Marie Jewelry

I have been looking at alot of etsy sellers for their interpretation of the initial necklace. From stamped discs with your initials to repurposed typewriter keys, I think I have seen them all. And at one point or another almost purchased each different kind.

But there is something beautifully simplistic about the single silver letter from SD Marie Jewelry that made me actually go ahead and order. The extra plus, the silver looks striking against my summer tan!

In addition to these initial necklaces there is alot of funky jewellery in this shop, almost an 80’s new wave feel to some of the items. I had to control myself from going crazy.

I really admire etsy sellers. Heck I even stuck my neck out and tried it out for a while (it was a dismal failure). It never ceases to amaze me the gorgeous, very artistic work that is sold through this site from around the world.
