What I bought

Weekly Round Up

weekend update

I thought I would do something different this year and instead of sticking with the more informative outfit and travel posts add a weekend update where I talk about what is going on in my life and what I am shopping and planning. I thought it would be a good way to share a bit more informally and not wait until after something is completed to talk about it. Let me know in the comments if you like this style of post.

Shopping

I thought that I would go on a bit of a shopping hiatus after Christmas but in the back of my head I knew that wasn’t going to happen. And half way through the month I was right.

Home – I bought two rugs for our home. Our front hall rug was in dire need of replacement after 3 years of use it just is tired. I plan on moving it to the mud room where it won’t be so obvious. I ordered this to replace it. I had seriously toyed with something like this but in the end went with something more neutral.

I also ordered this for our kitchen in the runner size to add a bit of softness.

Beauty

I went on a bit of a Sephora tear this past week. I wanted all the skin care. I filled up my cart with Deciem and after reading some reviews filtered out what I was just going a bit overboard. I did order this eye cream/serum and this anti age serum. I will do some reviews once I have tried the products.

I also reordered my favourite hair prep product which is actually the reason I put in a Sephora order in the first place.

Then I did something I never usually do and that is make a second order from the same store on the same day. I was thinking about all the products I have used in the past to ensure good hair days. As my hair is getting longer again I wanted to go back to using my Kevin Murphy shampoo but without making a special trip to a salon it is hard to come buy. I have ordered it on Amazon before but it again isn’t easy to find without over paying.

I decided to try the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day shampoo and conditioner. I am probably the last blogger on the planet to try this shampoo.

Clothing

This coat arrived. I have been on and off about ordering it for a few months. It wasn’t available in my size for a long time. This was my first order from NEXT and it was super easy and arrived quickly. I will be sharing the coat in an outfit post next week.

Madewell has a sale right now up to 30% off with the code STAYCOZY. I ordered these shoes which to be honest I can’t wear for a good 3 months but after that they will be on heavy rotation.  I also scored this top from the sale.

I am not really interested in spending any more money on winter clothes. I am interested in this dress for the summer though!

Life

This was the first week back to school for the kids and it felt nice to be back into a routine. It is busy season at work which means my days feel much more fast paced. I just keep churning through the to do list and make sure that I meet the deadlines.

The kids started ski lessons which they loved but their first lesson was smack dab in the middle of this weeks thaw. Standing in the cold rain to watch them ski was not ideal. We are back to snow again though so hopefully next weeks conditions are better.

It seems like everyone else is skiing right now too because this post has been on fire.

Thankfully we don’t really have weekend plans. Next weekend is my daughters birthday so this weekend will just be about finally taking down the Christmas tree and planning things out.

I am so ready to start planning a trip for after busy season but where to go? Beach? Europe? East coast? Out west? So many choices.

What are you up to this week?
