HM Try on Haul
I went on a tear ordering some stuff from H&M recently. I found myself following some British bloggers that keep scoring some seriously awesome high street fast fashion finds. So I thought instead of thinking oh those would probably look good but not actually ordering anything I thought I would pull the trigger on some affordable fashion finds from H&M. In order to get these reviews out to you super fast I just did some mirror pictures. I will share some styled photos on the blog in the up coming weeks.
The first item I ordered is this black dress. I am happy to report it is super cute on. The simple design has an elastic waist and elastic arm bands. I would say if you are taller that it might be a bit short but for petites it is a nice length. You might want to size up if you want it to fit a bit looser like on the model. This also comes in stripe if you are interested. The material is a lightweight cotton shirt type fabric which is great for summer. I really like the shape of this dress as it looks sophisticated without really having much to it. Pair this dress with a fun sandal and a boho clutch and you are set. HIT!
This might be my favourite of all the items in this order. It is easy going t-shirt material dress but the elastic waist gives it a bit more definition than a regular tshirt dress. This is one of those dresses that is perfect for vacation to throw over a bathing suit. I like this dress so much I think I might grab it in the dark blue stripe as well. HIT!
Ok this blouse I am on the fence about and not just because it fits me vastly differently than the model. It is not a true wrap in that there are interior buttons as opposed to the ties going through a hole and wrapping around. The interior buttons are extremely hard to button up without a mirror. I like the arms and once buttoned up the shirt is nice if a bit snug. I would say you might want to size up on this shirt. I does pair nicely with high waisted pants and skirts. If only it was easier to button up! I really question if it wasn’t a simpler design it would have been a much better item. I am not going to say it is a total miss but if you have the option I would size up on this one.
I did not take any pictures of this sweater but it is gorgeous. The camel is the perfect hue and I like the shoulder detail. If you are looking for an affordable classic cashmere sweater snap this up.
Ok so there you have it what I got  via H&M. Mostly hits and I am going to make that wrap shirt work and share it here again. Have you found any amazing high street scores lately?

Love, LOVE the black dolman sleeve dress on you – so chic!
I’ve tried to follow some UK based bloggers, but they are quite a bit younger and aren’t my aesthetic as a working Mom.
Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks,
Mindy

Hi Mindy I am loving Erica from The Edited. She is over 40 and not super thin. And has a cool boho vibe going on. She is so fun to follow on Instagram. I also like Alex of The Frugality she is amazing at picking out high street finds.
And Thank You! The dress was a score for sure.

Love the dolman sleeve dress on you! What do you think about sizing, would you say go with the 1-2 sizes larger than your regular JCrew/gap sizes? That’s what I’ve read@ least. The striped jersey dress is cute too. I haven’t shopped @ HM in so long, but I’ve also noticed some goodies recently as well!

I was going to mention that I’ve ordered a few cute tops from Mango this past month. I’m also trying to figure out their sizing though. I thought they would run small like Zara and maybe HM, but I don’t think so, so far. They recently started offering free shipping and returns here in the States!

I have found some great things at Mango over the years. My grey suede jacket is from Mango and it is one of my favourites. I think they are much closer to North American sizing than Zara for sure.
