  1. Gigi Slip-On Loafer – these come in a bunch of colours but I am loving this olive green. Watch the sizing they run small.
  2. Summer Getaway Loafer – these really aren’t that much cheaper than the Gucci option but they were too gorgeous not to include here.
  3. Remington Loafer – looking for a shoe that can party with all the sky high heels and still look fantastic closer to the ground? These silver loafers are an awesome option.
  4. Velvet At Ease Loafer – pink velvet loafers, yes please! These are another gorgeous option that could work for day or for night instead of heels.
  5. Gucci – Horsebit-detailed Leather Slippers – these are the real deal. The ones that the fuss is all about.
  6. Dugan Flat Loafer Mule – these are a bit more penny loafer inspired but still get the job done.
  7. The Felize Mule – the driving moccasin has been re-imagined to take this trend a different route. This option comes in lots of colours.
  8. Aquatalia Stella Loafer Mule – the tassles on this option feel fresh instead of stodgy.
  9. At Ease Loafer Mule – these are a fairly paired down option the moc croc adds a bit of flare.
  10. Cybil Loafer Mule – liked the silver loafer idea but wanted a mule style. This is your option.
  11. Nuti Loafer Mule – brown loafers usually feel extremely preppy these feel modern.
  12. Loafers Mule by Everlane in Buffed Black – while this option might have a more pointed toe than the Gucci option but Everlane makes good shoes.

Great post. When I first saw the Gucci mules I was like, no way. But like many a trend the more I saw them, they grew on me. Last fall I could only find one Gucci-like shoe from Steve Madden but not available in my size! I finally found what looked like a cute pair online. Of course when I got them, they were not as cute IRL. After hemming and hawing I missed the return deadline. I don’t even know what the rush was since it was too cold to wear them anyhow (impatient)! They are more than okay, but now that it’s spring I see so many more affordable options and once again I wish I would have waited! I have to say, what I can’t imagine I’ll ever like are the fur lined loafers, I just think they are bizarre!! What do you think of them?

The first thing I through of when you weren’t a fan of the Gucci mules at first where the fur lined ones! While I have seen people pull them off I think they are a bit too out there for my tastes. The classic mule sure – it is a summery version of a classic menswear inspired shoe but the fur is a bit much. Kinda makes you look like you have hair sprouting from your feet! To the girls who can pull off the fur lined Gucci mule I say bravo but they aren’t for me.
