What I wore

Cuyana Tote Review

Last Updated on November 8, 2016 by Jane

I had my eye on a Cuyana tote since before Christmas. I had heard good things and I felt like my white Gigi New York tote was too summery for the dead of winter. I can tell you right away this tote has exceeded my expectations. Continue reading for my Cuyana Tote review.

Cuyana Tote Review

The first thing you notice when you pull a Cuyana tote out of the packaging is that it is so supple and soft. The leather is amazing quality. Some people prefer structure when it comes to their leather bags, I prefer to have something soft and luxurious to the touch.

The handles are a good length where I can easily carry the tote over my shoulder even when wearing a bulky winter coat. If I am carrying the tote by hand it isn’t so long that it drags on the ground.

The style of the tote is exceedingly simple. There is no lining so you can see the raw leather inside the bag. There is one zippered pocket on the side and no interior dividers. The size of the Cuyana tote is quite large especially since comparable totes cost twice as much.

While I have heard some people are not fond of the non structured bottom of the Cuyana tote it really isn’t a deal breaker for me. I did find a DIYs to create a cuyana tote reviewreinforced base for the bottom of the tote here .

What I like best about the Cuyana Tote and the top reason for recommending it for others is how soft the leather is; it is so luxurious! I also think the size is perfect. It is larger and deeper than my Gigi New York tote and it makes all the difference. I love the red colour I chose but there are so many other gorgeous colours out there you really can’t go wrong.

Other big pluses with this purchase it is Made in the USA and is only $150. While not super cheap it is really affordable compared with other totes of it’s size. Consider another made in the USA option, the Gigi New York Tote starts at over $300.

Shipping to Canada is not exactly cheap but considering they only offer express shipping it makes the expensive $30 shipping charge worth the price. I also had to pay GST but no duties which makes sense as the tote is made in the USA.

I love the motto behind Cuyana, fewer better. But when you shop Cuyana you are able to shop better at a reasonable price point.

What do you think of the Cuyana Tote Review? Is this bag on your list?

It’s on my list and wondered if you got yours mongrammed? How it it wearing? I’m in Canada (Alberta) as well and called and they will ship to my hotel in Florida in September, so I’m lucky enough to be able to avoid the shipping costs. Love the blog!
